An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale struck on Friday southeast of Khanaqin District in Diyala Governorate, northeastern Iraq, without recording human or material losses. The Iraqi Ministry of Transport said, in a statement, that the seismic observatories of the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring recorded the occurrence of an earthquake measuring 4.1 degrees in the eastern parts of Khanaqin, stressing that there were no reports of any loss of life or private property.
