SDAIA Highlights at International Conference in Republic of Korea Importance of Having Arabic Data Specialized in Linguistic Techniques

Seoul, The Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SDAIA) participated in the International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing (IEEE ICASSP 2024), which concluded today in the Republic of Korea, amid a large international presence of artificial intelligence experts from different countries of the world and major international technology companies.

SDAIA was represented at the conference by artificial intelligence research expert Dr. Sadin Al-Harbi, during which she presented a scientific paper on the importance of having Arabic data specialized in linguistic techniques such as SADA data, which are Arabic databases available to developers to enable them to develop linguistic techniques and achieve the most extensive open source data set in local Saudi dialects. This data is one of the results of the project (SauTech), which is an artificial intelligence system that allows speech to be converted into text through the voice recognition feature in classical Arabic and local dia
lects. It can be used to automate meeting transcription, develop chatbots, and build interactive audio systems.

The IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing (ICASSP) is one of the most important international conferences in acoustic technologies. It is where all specialists and those interested in these technologies gather to review the latest developments in the field.

SDAIA’s participation in the conference is part of its efforts to advance the field of data and artificial intelligence, stimulate its growth, and benefit from it to serve humanity.

SDAIA is the national reference in all matters related to organizing, developing, and dealing with data and artificial intelligence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The authourity is keen to enhance participation in such major events to highlight the importance of these advanced technologies and the progress the Kingdom has made in them.
