Riyadh: The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has urged establishments subject to the excise tax to file their tax returns for May and June 2025 by July 15, 2025. The authority emphasized the importance of timely submissions to avoid penalties.
According to Saudi Press Agency, ZATCA called on establishments to submit their returns through its website, zatca.gov.sa, and warned of a 5% fine for the unpaid tax for each 30 days past the due date. The agency has made several channels available for business taxpayers seeking more information about the excise tax. These include a 24/7 unified call center at 19993, the agency's X account (@Zatca_Care), email ([email protected]), or the instant messaging feature on the ZATCA website.
The excise tax applies to goods considered harmful to public health or the environment, such as soft drinks, energy drinks, sweetened beverages, and tobacco. Establishments dealing with such products are required to comply with the tax filing deadlines as stipulated by ZATCA.
