Riyadh: The National Competitiveness Center (NCC), in collaboration with the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), held an event on 'The Future of Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods in Light of Digital Transformation and UNCITRAL Texts.' Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University's Higher Institute of Judiciary hosted the event. University president Ahmed Al-Ameri and Assistant Minister of Commerce Abdulaziz Al-Duhaim attended the event, alongside various government officials, university leaders, experts and lawyers.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the event was part of UNCITRAL Days for Arab States 2025 and aimed to promote the unification and modernization of trade laws globally to overcome legal obstacles to international trade and investment. It highlighted key developments in agreements, model laws, and legislative guides across various areas of international commercial law, including arbitration, e-commerce, insolvency, securities, procurement, and transportation.
Additionally, the event sought to enhance awareness among the public and private sectors, as well as academics, regarding the significance of a unified international commercial law and its advantages in facilitating cross-border trade transactions.
