Mumbai: Saudi Arabia's Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, recently visited the Indian TATA Group's headquarters in Mumbai. During this visit, he engaged with leaders from TATA Defense, TATA Electronics Limited, and TATA Steel Limited to discuss potential collaboration in the military, aviation, electronics, and steel industries.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the discussions aimed to align with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which serves as a blueprint for the Kingdom's economic transformation. Alkhorayef emphasized the Vision's influence on the industrial and mining sectors and outlined investment prospects in 12 strategic industrial fields, such as aviation, defense, and electronics.
The meeting included a presentation by the CEO of TATA Defense, who provided insights into the company's military aircraft and vehicles, highlighting TATA's proficiency in developing and managing military production facilities.
Additionally, the CEO of TATA Steel Limited discussed the company's participation in global markets, focusing on exports related to construction, automotive, and supply chain industries.
The dialogue also addressed the potential for collaboration between TATA Electronics Limited, known for its expertise in electronic chips and semiconductors, and Saudi Arabia's National Industrial Development Center (NIDC), to advance the semiconductor sector within the Kingdom.
Accompanying Alkhorayef were Abdulrahman Al-Samari, CEO of the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, and Eng. Saleh Al-Solami, CEO of the National Industrial Development Center.
