Riyadh: The Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation (SACF) and DP World ILT20 officially launched their strategic partnership during a ceremony held yesterday in Riyadh, in the presence of Chairman of SACF Prince Saud bin Mishal, Chairman of DP World ILT20 Khalid Al Zarooni, and CEO of DP World ILT20 David White.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the ceremony featured a panel discussion with former international players Simon Doull and Waqar Younis, who discussed the future of cricket, talent development pathways, and strengthening infrastructure.
Prince Saud emphasized that this partnership is a key foundation for building a sustainable future for the sport, highlighting that cooperation with DP World ILT20 will be a cornerstone in establishing a professional system that enhances Saudi Arabia's presence on the global cricket map, offering new opportunities for Saudi talent, investors, and the private sector.
Al Zarooni confirmed that this collaboration represents a shared commitment to empowering Saudi talent and expanding the professional infrastructure of cricket in the region.
David White expressed pride in the partnership, saying, 'With this partnership, we are entering a promising new phase for cricket in the region, and we are committed to providing platforms for the development of Saudi players, looking forward to hosting league matches in the Kingdom soon.'
This partnership is part of SACF's efforts to position Saudi Arabia as a regional hub for cricket, aligning with the goals of Vision 2030 and the Quality of Life Program, and represents a key step as SACF prepares for the significant year of 2026. It also marks the beginning of a new phase of joint initiatives, including advanced player development programs, coach and umpire training, hosting international matches, and community initiatives to promote cricket across Saudi Arabia.
