Najran: Vineyards across Najran Region and its governorates have begun supplying local markets with abundant, high-quality grape harvests, the result of a five-month cultivation effort by local farmers.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the growing process-which begins with planting and continues through irrigation and care until harvest-has become a seasonal tradition for the region's farmers. The grapes are now reaching markets across Najran and throughout Saudi Arabia.
The region's farms produce nearly 3,000 tons of grapes annually across 67 hectares. Both white and black grape varieties are among the region's most prominent and high-quality crops, thanks to its fertile soil, moderate year-round climate, and abundant water supply. These favorable conditions have enabled the region to rely heavily on agriculture as a key contributor to the local economy and a vital source of income for farmers.
The grapes are known for their nutritional value, rich flavor, and sweetness, which have made them popular in local markets and driven strong consumer demand.
During a recent tour of Najran's vineyards, particularly those lining Wadi Najran, the Saudi Press Agency observed grape clusters hanging from vines in scenic rows, as farmers harvested and packed the fruit into designated crates.
