New York City: Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) and President of the Saudi Boxing Federation Turki Al Alshikh reaffirmed the Kingdom's support for boxing, highlighting the backing of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the Saudi Boxing Federation and Riyadh Season.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Al Alshikh made the statement at a press conference in New York City during the global promotional tour for the upcoming fight between Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez and American Terence Crawford. He announced that exclusive broadcasting rights for the fight were granted to Netflix following negotiations with several major platforms.
Canelo expressed his respect for Crawford, describing him as one of the greatest fighters. He noted that the chairman had encouraged him to take the fight.
Crawford mentioned that he is focused on September 13, calling the timing of the fight perfect. He expressed his determination to deliver for the fans.
The media tour will conclude on Friday in Las Vegas, with significant coverage expected given the growing global interest in this super middleweight bout as part of Riyadh Season.
