Live Handcraft Demonstrations Draw Visitors at Al-Atula Archaeological Village Festival

Riyadh: Live handcraft demonstrations by skilled artisans at the eighth edition of Al-Atula Archaeological Village festival have drawn significant attention. Festival supervisor Othman Al-Zahrani told the Saudi Press Agency that the event features over 10 sections dedicated to traditional crafts, including ancient building techniques, door and window engraving, sword and dagger making, and Sadu weaving.

According to Saudi Press Agency, these sections offer visitors a unique opportunity to experience traditional professions firsthand through live demonstrations using simple tools and natural materials rooted in Al-Baha Region's heritage, aligning with the Year of Handicrafts 2025, an initiative launched to celebrate and support traditional crafts across the Kingdom.

Al-Baha Region, rich in cultural heritage, is known for its thriving craft industries that reflect the identity and history of its people. More than 200 artisans from the region practice and preserve 20 distinct types of skills passed down through generations and showcased in local markets and cultural events.
