Hambantota: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) concluded the Saudi Noor Volunteer Project to Combat Blindness and the Diseases that Cause it in the city of Hambantota in Sri Lanka. Running from November 3 to 8, the project aimed to provide essential eye care services to the local population, significantly impacting the community’s healthcare landscape.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the project involved a comprehensive examination of 4,500 individuals, with the distribution of 600 pairs of eyeglasses to those in need. Furthermore, the KSrelief volunteer medical team executed 503 specialized eye surgeries, all successfully conducted during the mission’s brief tenure.
This initiative is part of the Kingdom’s broader efforts under KSrelief to enhance healthcare services and support patients suffering from eye conditions in countries classified as sisterly and friendly, demonstrating Saudi Arabia’s commitment to international humanitarian assistance.
