Riyadh: On the occasion of World Horse Day, the King Abdulaziz Public Library highlighted its efforts to document Arabian horse heritage through scientific publications, rare manuscripts, and research acquisitions that have enriched historical, linguistic, and cultural studies related to horses and equestrianism.
According to Saudi Press Agency, among its most prominent contributions is the publication of the manuscript on the origins of horses, one of the rarest specialized manuscripts on the history of Arabian horses, documenting lineages, breeds, and stables of purebred horses across the Arabian Peninsula.
The library has established an equestrian studies center housing more than 12,000 cultural and scientific items, and issued the world's first printed bibliographic inventory of horses and equestrianism.
Key publications include works on equestrianism, Arabian horse history, and specialized bibliographic studies in Arabic and English, as well as multilingual titles and linguistic references documenting horses in classical Arabic literature.
These efforts reflect the library's commitment to preserving Arabian horse heritage and providing reliable scientific references for researchers.
