KFSHRC Honored for Its Role in Promoting Community Health in Madinah

Madinah: In recognition of its strong commitment to community service, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSHRC) in Madinah was awarded the Ministry of Health Shield by Governor of Madinah Region Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, in the presence of Minister of Health Fahad AlJalajel. The award acknowledges the hospital's significant contributions to supporting the re-accreditation of Madinah as a 'Healthy City' for 2025 by the World Health Organization (WHO).

According to Saudi Press Agency, this honor marks a culmination of KFSHRC's efforts to enhance quality of life in collaboration with various sectors, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030. The hospital played a leading role in improving public health indicators through health awareness campaigns and community initiatives that helped create a sustainable and healthy environment in accordance with WHO's Healthy Cities criteria.

KFSHRC Madinah has a capacity of 400 beds and serves the region and surrounding areas, specializing in pediatric and adult oncology, ophthalmology, and obstetrics and gynecology. The hospital has also achieved 14 accreditations for training across various medical and nursing specialties.

It is noteworthy that KFSHRC has been ranked first in the Middle East and North Africa and 15th globally in the list of the world's top 250 Academic Medical Centers for the second consecutive year and has been recognized as the most valuable healthcare brand in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, according to the 2025 Brand Finance rankings. Additionally, in the same year, it was ranked among the world's best 250 hospitals and included in the World's Best Smart Hospitals list for 2025 by Newsweek magazine.
