Riyadh: The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) released the International Trade statistics for May 2025 today, revealing a 6.0% increase in non-oil exports (including re-exports), which reached SAR31.1 billion, compared to the same month in 2024. The total value of merchandise exports amounted to SAR90.4 billion, while imports rose by 7.8% to reach SAR80.9 billion, compared to May 2024.
According to Saudi Press Agency, among the most significant non-oil exports were machinery, electrical equipment, and parts, which accounted for 23.7% of the total non-oil exports, valued at SAR7.4 billion. They also accounted for 29.7% of total imports, totaling SAR24.0 billion.
China is identified as Saudi Arabia's leading trading partner in merchandise. Exports to China totaled SAR12.7 billion, accounting for 14.0% of total exports in May 2025. Meanwhile, imports from China reached SAR23.4 billion, representing 28.9% of total imports for the same month.
The International Trade statistics are compiled from administrative records of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (non-oil) and the Ministry of Energy (oil). Saudi Arabia's merchandise exports and imports are classified according to the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System 2022.
