ZATCA Urges Establishments to File Excise Tax Returns for September and October

General

Riyadh: The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has called on establishments that are subject to the excise tax to ensure they file their tax returns for the months of September and October by November 15. This appeal aims to ensure compliance and avoid penalties.

According to Saudi Press Agency, ZATCA has advised these establishments to file their returns promptly through its official website, zatca.gov.sa. Failure to meet the deadline will result in a fine, calculated as 5% of the unpaid tax for every 30-day period beyond the due date.

For businesses seeking further details on the excise tax, ZATCA has provided several contact options. The unified call center can be reached at 19993 and operates around the clock. Additionally, inquiries can be directed to ZATCA via their X account (@Zatca_Care), email ([email protected]), or through instant messaging on their website.

The excise tax is applied at varying rates on products considered detrimental to public health or the environment. These include soft drinks, energy drinks, sweetened beverages, and tobacco products.
