Wild Hares Thrive in King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve

Riyadh: Wild hares are part of the wildlife in the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve, where they thrive in areas with essential plants for food and survival and adapt to many different environments.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the gestation period for a female wild hare lasts about 40 days, and it gives birth to four to 12 young in each litter. Wild hares are characterized by their long, thin bodies, and the color of their fur ranges from gray to reddish-brown. Their sharp eyesight and strong sense of smell allow them to detect sources of danger and quickly escape from predators.

The reserve’s development authority seeks to breed wild hares and reintroduce them into their natural habitats through conservation and protection programs for mammals.
