Tashkent: The Islamic Civilization Center in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, has announced an international calligraphy competition to produce a unique copy of the Holy Quran, bringing together diverse global styles and calligraphic schools into a single collaborative work.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the competition was announced during the International Media Forum titled "Islamic Civilization: A New Perspective - New Discoveries" in Tashkent. This event invites calligraphers from around the world to participate, aiming to highlight the historical evolution and rich heritage of Arabic calligraphy in scripting the Holy Quran.
The initiative is part of the center's broader efforts presented at the forum. These efforts include projects focused on manuscripts, the Holy Quran, and Islamic heritage, all designed to preserve and showcase the Islamic cultural legacy through contemporary platforms.
