VR Journeys at Almadinah Book Fair Offer Glimpse into Early Islamic History

General

Ottawa: The "Ana Al-Madinah" pavilion at this year's Almadinah Book Fair is drawing growing interest from visitors seeking a unique experience that blends technology and history, featuring virtual reality (VR) journeys that transport them on a digital tour of Makkah and Madinah's landmarks as they appeared 14 centuries ago, capturing the spirit of early Islamic civilization.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this interactive project aligns with the Kingdom's digital development goals under Vision 2030, particularly in supporting religious tourism and technological innovation. The pavilion serves as a platform to showcase technological advancements in preserving and presenting spiritual and historical heritage.

Through these VR experiences, users can travel back in time to explore key historical landmarks, including the Grand Mosque, the Kaaba, the Prophet's Mosque, Jabal Al-Nour, and the Quba Mosque.

Almadinah Book Fair 2025 will continue to welcome visitors daily until August 4, from 2:00 pm to 12:00 am, as part of a program offering cultural seminars, workshops, and poetry evenings.
