Paris: The Visual Arts Commission has announced the return of its Intermix Residency Program with a new International Edition, presented in partnership with the Cit© internationale des arts, as well as POUSH in Paris. This edition will support 11 participants with the residency.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the CEO of the Visual Arts Commission, Dina Amin, expressed that supporting artist practices is at the core of the Commission's mission. She highlighted the introduction of the new International Edition of Intermix as a proud moment, as it allows Saudi artists and curators to expand their horizons and engage with a global community. The partnership with the Cit© internationale des arts marks the inaugural collaboration, while the continued partnership with POUSH, spanning its Aubervilliers and Portes de Paris sites, provides access to France's dynamic creative environments. These collaborations are expected to enrich the global discourse on visual art and support the growth of emerging Saudi artists through meaningful cultural exchanges.
The Intermix Cit© internationale des arts Residency Program is structured as a three-month initiative, running from December 3, 2025, to February 26, 2026. It aims to facilitate mobility and international collaborations, specifically supporting the practices of Saudi Arabian artists and curators. The program offers a dual approach: enabling artists to develop research projects in Paris with curated professional support, and providing personalized guidance, including critical feedback from mentors and administrative assistance. The residency will feature four visual artists-Daniah Alsaleh, Tara Aldughaither, Shatha Alsaidan, Saeed Gebaaan-and a curator, Mariyam Bilal.
In collaboration with POUSH, the residency program returns for its fourth edition, focusing on supporting five Saudi visual artists and one curator. This edition emphasizes professional development and training, with participants engaging in workshops, training sessions, and meetings with influential art world figures. Participants will also have access to dedicated production spaces at POUSH and beyond to develop and execute their projects. The residency participants include Shadin Albulaihed, Asmaa Aljohani, Jana Ghalayini, Ali Hussain Al-Hamoud, Zahiyah Alraddadi, and Aliaa Kurdi.
The Visual Arts Commission reiterated that the ongoing development of its artist residency programs is part of its broader talent-development initiatives. These programs are designed to empower creative practitioners, support their professional growth, and enhance their capacity to foster cultural and knowledge exchanges with institutions and artists worldwide.
