Turkiye: Grain silos and chemical plant explosions leave 10 injured

Turkish authorities announced Monday that ten people were injured in an explosion in grain silos in Drenja, overlooking the Sea of Marmara.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Turkish governor of Kocaeli, Saddar Yavuz, said the explosion injured ten people, including two in critical condition, adding that all workers had been evacuated from the site.

The Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Ibrahim Yumakli, said “technical” investigations had been launched into the explosion.

Another explosion took place at a chemical plant in Tekirda while local authorities closed the area and declared a state of emergency.
