General

Riyadh: The Transport General Authority (TGA) mobilized all its resources to serve pilgrims by providing safe and efficient transportation services that met the highest operational standards during the 1446 AH Hajj season. This year's Hajj saw the arrival of over 1,673,000 pilgrims in Makkah. The authority's oversight teams played a key role in inspecting vehicles and ensuring regulatory compliance at more than 50 locations across Makkah and Madinah Regions, helping to facilitate the smooth and secure performance of the pilgrims' rituals.

According to Saudi Press Agency, more than 300,000 field inspections were carried out across all modes of transportation, resulting in the detection of over 38,000 violations. Despite the high volume of inspections, the compliance rate reached 93%, the highest recorded in recent years, reflecting the authority's strong enforcement efforts.

As part of its commitment to continuous improvement, the TGA also launched an initiative to gauge user satisfaction, with over 10,000 participants. The feedback collected was used to assess service effectiveness and enhance overall efficiency, aiming to achieve the highest levels of user satisfaction throughout the Hajj season.

In addition to operational oversight, the TGA conducted several field studies covering all transportation activities. These studies aimed to forecast future transportation needs and identify opportunities for sustainable growth and development, in line with the authority's vision for an integrated and forward-looking transport sector.

The authority also reported that more than 25,000 buses were deployed to transport pilgrims during the season. Field data further showed that over 900,000 livestock were transported using more than 250 dedicated shuttle trucks.
