Riyadh: The Ministry of Tourism has unveiled the results of its regulatory and inspection efforts during the third quarter of 2024, where it carried out 9,655 inspections of hospitality facilities and tourism activities across all regions of the Kingdom. These efforts identified 7,521 violations and addressed 11,494 complaints during the same period.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the ministry highlighted that the most common violations included operating without a license, poor cleanliness standards at facilities, failure to meet licensing conditions, and non-compliance by hospitality facility representatives within the timeframe specified by the ministry.
Makkah Region recorded the highest number of inspections, exceeding 3,600 visits, followed by Riyadh with over 1,350 visits, Madinah with more than 1,100 visits, and the Eastern Region with over 1,070 visits. The remaining regions of the Kingdom accounted for over 2,500 inspections.
The ministry noted that these inspections are part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the sustainability of the tourism sector, ensure compliance with regulations and standards, improve the quality of services provided, and enhance visitor experiences.
The ministry also stressed its commitment to promptly addressing all complaints to protect the rights of tourism activity beneficiaries in the Kingdom.
