Riyadh: The Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) has introduced new geological data packages in conjunction with the Future Minerals Forum taking place in Riyadh.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the SGS's spokesperson, Tariq Aba Al-Khail, stated that the new packages of geological data will be accessible through the SGS-National Geological Database. This includes the addition of 43 geophysical aerial survey maps during the third scheduled publication period, set for the end of 2024.

With this update, the total number of published maps in the national database will reach 164, accounting for 65% of the overall total of 252 aerial geophysical survey maps.

Additionally, he added that the content of the data packages for the surface geochemical survey of valley sediments has been enhanced. This includes the integration of maps showing the distribution of single elements and statistical analyses of various chemical elements. This update represents 20% of the previous offerings, covering a total of 10 geological squares out of 50.

These new data packages will significantly support the exploration of mineral resources and enhance the attractiveness of both local and foreign investments in the Kingdom. Consequently, this will help stimulate the economy and diversify sources of income, which aligns with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
