Riyadh: The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) has emphasized the necessity for beneficiaries to connect their water and sewage services to official networks through approved legal procedures. The authority highlighted that this practice directly enhances service quality, preserves water resources, and ensures the safety of both the environment and public health.
According to Saudi Press Agency, SWA noted that any violations or unauthorized connections are clear infractions of the Water Law. These actions negatively affect network efficiency, service quality, and infrastructure safety, potentially leading to leaks, environmental pollution, and public health risks.
The authority issued a warning that unauthorized use of the public network or random connections without permits could result in legal penalties for offenders. Such activities could directly compromise the reliability of water supply and sewage services. SWA called for collective efforts to minimize these violations.
SWA urged all beneficiaries, contractors, and service providers to comply with regulations and seek approved connections through official channels. The authority reiterated that public awareness at both individual and institutional levels is fundamental to protecting water resources and ensuring their sustainability.
