Special Olympics Regional Advisory Council MENA Concludes in Madinah

Madinah: The Regional Advisory Council of the Special Olympics Middle East and North Africa (MENA) concluded yesterday in Madinah. Hosted by the Saudi Special Olympics Federation over four days, the event featured representatives from 11 countries, along with program and athlete leaders.

According to Saudi Press Agency, discussions focused on developing regional programs and reviewing joint initiatives to enhance the sustainability of the Special Olympics movement, empowering athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Attending the council were Regional President of Special Olympics International for MENA Ayman Wahab and President of the Saudi Special Olympics Federation Maha Al-Juffali, along with other members.

In her opening speech, Al-Juffali emphasized that hosting this event reflects the Saudi leadership's commitment to improving the lives of people with disabilities.

Wahab noted that the regional advisory council has been pivotal in the development of the Special Olympics movement since 1997, contributing vital proposals and initiatives that amplify athletes' voices and enhance programs across the region.
