The Somali authorities announced Tuesday that the National Army killed 25 members of the Al Shabaab militia west of Wajid in Bakool Governorate.
According to the Somali News Agency, the army carried out a military operation that targeted a gathering of militia members preparing to carry out a “terrorist attack.”
The mayor of Wajid, Muhammad Muallem Yusuf, told local media that five foreigners were among the dead.
