SIRC Begins Construction of Facility for Recycling, Treating Hazardous Medical Waste

Jeddah: The Saudi Investment Recycling Company (SIRC) has commenced the construction of a facility dedicated to the recycling and treatment of hazardous medical waste in Jeddah Third Industrial City. The company has slated trial operations to start in November 2025.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the project is designed to offer integrated solutions for managing hazardous medical waste, adhering to up-to-date environmental and health standards. By utilizing advanced international expertise, the facility aims to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, support environmental sustainability, and foster a circular economy. This initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program.

The facility is set to provide comprehensive services such as collecting and transporting hazardous medical waste from various healthcare facilities across both public and private sectors. Additionally, the project aims to increase community awareness regarding the best practices for handling hazardous medical waste, with the goal of protecting public health and the environment.
