Mecca: The Imam and Preacher of the Grand Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Awad Al-Juhani, delivered a poignant sermon to Muslims, emphasizing the importance of fearing Allah, worshiping Him sincerely, and adhering to His commands. Speaking to a congregation gathered for Friday prayers at the Grand Mosque, Sheikh Al-Juhani underscored the significance of truthfulness as the foundation of all matters, urging Muslims to be mindful of their actions, both seen and unseen, and to commit to monotheism and devotion to Allah.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Sheikh Al-Juhani highlighted the special nature of the day, which coincided with both Friday and the Day of Eid Al-Adha, the most significant day of Hajj. He called on pilgrims to maintain calmness and peace, adhering to the guidelines of Hajj, and urged them to be gentle, kind, and generous, avoiding any form of disturbance or harm to others.
Sheikh Al-Juhani reminded the worshippers of the Prophet Muhammad's sermon on this day, which emphasized the sanctity of Mecca and the importance of worship, prayer, fasting, and obedience to authority as pathways to Paradise. He cautioned against misbehavior in the holy city and stressed the importance of sincerity in worship, warning against actions that could invalidate their deeds or disturb their spiritual experience.
He expressed gratitude to Allah for the blessings bestowed upon the pilgrims and praised the efforts of the Saudi leadership, under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Crown Prince, in facilitating Hajj rituals. The generosity of the Saudi leadership was further exemplified by hosting Palestinian families of martyrs and prisoners to perform Hajj, reinforcing the nation's commitment to unity and support for the Palestinian cause.
The sermon concluded with praise to Allah for His blessings and a call for continued unity among Muslims, as envisioned by the founder, King Abdulaziz. Sheikh Al-Juhani's message resonated with the congregation, encouraging them to uphold the values of peace, sincerity, and unity during their pilgrimage and beyond.
