SDAIA Makes Use of Technology to Serve Pilgrims Through Makkah Route Initiative in Turkiye

Ankara, The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) is participating as a technical and digital enabler in the 'Makkah Route' initiative for 1445 in the countries benefiting from the initiative, including Turkiye through Ankara Esenboga International Airport. SDAIA, represented by the National Information Center, has worked to activate the relevant technical systems through direct supervision, supported by engineers and technicians, to prepare the technical infrastructure in the pilgrims' lounge at the airport according to the highest approved international standards and specifications. They also operate and manage 'mobile bags' to facilitate the completion of entry procedures for Turkish pilgrims. In addition, SDAIA has utilized artificial intelligence technologies by developing a tablet enhanced with artificial intelligence that works as a 'mobile counter' to facilitate the completion of procedures for pilgrims in general, pilgrims with disabilities, and older people in particular, takin g into account their circumstances. The 'Makkah Route' Initiative, a key component of the Ministry of Interior's ?Pilgrim Experience Program, is a testament to the collaborative spirit of various government ministries and authorities. In its sixth year of implementation, this initiative is a joint effort with the ministries of foreign affairs, health, Hajj and Umrah, and media, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, and the Saudi Data and AI Authority.
