Arafat: The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) today carried out an air medical evacuation for an emergency case in Arafat. This operation is part of the SRCA's ongoing efforts to enhance preparedness and readiness during the Hajj season 1446 AH, which is being executed in coordination with relevant health authorities.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the operation commenced upon receiving an emergency report through the central operations room. Ground and air ambulance teams were immediately dispatched to the site, where they managed the case on the ground in accordance with approved procedures. The patient was then transported via a medical evacuation plane to the designated hospital. Direct coordination with the hospital's medical team ensured the patient's seamless reception, with all necessary medical information, including the type of case, vital status, expected arrival time, and distance traveled, being provided in advance.
The authority harnesses all its human and technical capabilities to serve pilgrims, driven by its humanitarian and national duty. Both ground and air ambulance teams continue to work around the clock, remaining close to pilgrims to provide urgent care at the appropriate time and place, reflecting the Kingdom's established values in serving pilgrims.
This rapid response is part of an integrated plan focused on swift reporting, accurate guidance, and efficient coordination between ambulance teams. It underscores the authority's readiness and the training of its teams to handle emergency cases in the holy sites, ensuring the provision of high-quality ambulance services to pilgrims.
The air ambulance service, activated by the Saudi Red Crescent Authority during the Hajj season 1446 AH, stands as a vital pillar of the health emergency system. It operates 11 aircraft across 13 strategic landing strips covering Makkah and the holy sites, all under the supervision of more than 120 qualified personnel working around the clock.
