Saudi Minister of Education Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan participated in the 2024 Global Education Innovation Summit (GEIS) in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, alongside over 200 global education leaders, including ministers, government officials, education experts, and representatives from international organizations. During a ministerial session titled "Classroom Revolution with AI: Public Education Systems for Inclusive and Equitable Quality Learning for All," Al-Benyan, along with Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Professor Lee Ju-Ho of the Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan's Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, and the UK's Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Early Education Stephen Morgan, discussed the role of artificial intelligence in bridging educational gaps and improving learning outcomes. The session highlighted the evolving roles of teachers, students, parents, policymakers, and technology companies in ensuring the success of AI initiatives in education. The session als o explored the latest innovations in AI-driven personalized learning and how these technologies can make education more tailored and effective. Al-Benyan emphasized Saudi Arabia's leadership in digital transformation, a key priority under Saudi Vision 2030. The Kingdom ranked first in government strategy according to the Tortoise Global AI Index and second in community awareness of AI according to Stanford University's 2023 AI Index. He stressed that Saudi Vision 2030 aims to position Saudi Arabia as a global leader in the digital economy, with education and AI integration as investments in future generations. He also highlighted the Kingdom's efforts to enhance education through global partnerships and agreements with leading countries in education and AI, underscoring the importance of using technology wisely to serve humanity.
