Severe Thunderstorms and Flash Floods Expected in Several Saudi Regions

Jeddah: Moderate to heavy thunderstorms, potentially leading to flash floods and accompanied by hail, are expected in parts of Jazan, Aseer, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Madinah regions, with the possibility of thunderclouds forming over parts of the Najran Region.

According to Saudi Press Agency, gusty, dust-stirring winds are also anticipated in these regions, as well as in Eastern, Tabuk, and Riyadh regions. Additionally, fog formation is likely during the night and early morning hours in coastal areas along the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf.

Winds over the Red Sea will vary in direction from northwesterly to westerly at speeds of 15-35 km/h, and southwesterly to northwesterly at speeds of 10-50 km/h. Wave heights may range from half a meter to over two meters, causing the sea to be calm to choppy.

In the Arabian Gulf, winds are forecasted to be southwesterly to southeasterly at speeds of 10-25 km/h, and southeasterly to northeasterly at similar speeds. Waves are expected to range from half a meter to one meter, maintaining calm sea conditions.
