Riyadh: The GLMC 365 event, organized by the Global Labor Market Conference (GLMC) in collaboration with the World Bank, recently concluded at the World Bank headquarters in Washington, bringing together a distinguished group of experts, policymakers, academics, and students from across the globe. As part of a broader GLMC initiative, the event aimed to drive forward transformations in global employment policies while strengthening labor markets' capacity to adapt to the rapid changes driven by digitization, emerging technologies, and artificial intelligence.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the dialogue sessions explored the future of work, the role of technology and AI in bridging the gap between education and employment, and the evolving shift from degree-based to skills-based hiring. A youth workshop also took place, featuring the participation of Saudi and international students from leading U.S. universities. These students shared valuable insights and personal experiences, which will be incorporated into the event's final report, along with practical recommendations for future action.

One of the highlights was a presentation by CEO of Takamol Holding Dr. Ahmad Al-Yamani, who shared Saudi Arabia's pioneering efforts in building digital labor systems, particularly through the Qiwa platform. With over 14.5 million users, Qiwa has emerged as a global model for digital platforms in international labor markets. Al-Yamani underscored that the platform has played a key role in boosting employment opportunities for holders of accredited digital certificates by an impressive 72%.
