Cairo: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participated today in the 29th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Communications and Information Technology, affiliated with the League of Arab States, hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt. The Saudi delegation was led by Governor of the Digital Government Authority Eng. Ahmed Alsuwaiyan, on behalf of Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha. The delegation engaged in discussions within the Arab Permanent Committee for Telecommunications and Information, the Executive Bureau, and the Arab Telecommunications and Information Council to review the execution of previous resolutions and decide on appropriate actions for submitted recommendations.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Alsuwaiyan emphasized that Saudi Arabia's involvement underscores its dedication to bolstering and advancing joint Arab efforts in communications, technology, and artificial intelligence. He highlighted the substantial progress the Kingdom has achieved in its digital economy by 2025 and its prominent positions in several international benchmarks related to the digital sector.
Furthermore, Alsuwaiyan remarked on Saudi Arabia's support for establishing an Arab ministerial council for artificial intelligence, showcasing its commitment to unifying Arab initiatives and leveraging the significant opportunities presented by this crucial sector. This initiative aims to enhance the region's preparedness for future technological demands.
