Unaizah: Farms across Unaizah are witnessing a steady increase in daily activity, supplying thousands of boxes of dates to market yards. The produce comes from the second harvest of the Unaizah International Dates Season, known as "Naqwa Unaizah," and includes a variety of dates.
According to Saudi Press Agency, CEO of the company operating the Unaizah International Dates Season, Abdulwahab Al-Qahtani, described the second harvest as the golden stage of the season. He cited the higher quality and increased quantities of dates available, which boost commercial activity and give shoppers a wider selection of varieties and products.
Al-Qahtani said Sukkari accounts for more than 80% of the dates currently on offer. It is one of the most popular varieties in the Qassim Region and is known for its quality, taste, and ease of storage and freezing.
He noted that Sukkari is classified into three main grades. The highest is Royal Sukkari, distinguished by its large size, attractive color, and lack of skin separation, followed by medium Sukkari and Galaxy, according to the quality grades used in the market.
More than 20 date varieties are also available during the season, Al-Qahtani said.
