Riyadh: The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Qatar have expressed deep concern regarding Israeli statements about the opening of the Rafah Crossing in only one direction, potentially transferring residents of the Gaza Strip into Egypt. The ministers have firmly rejected any attempts to displace the Palestinian people from their land and emphasized the importance of adhering to the plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump. This plan includes keeping the Rafah Crossing open in both directions, ensuring freedom of movement, and avoiding the forced relocation of Gaza Strip residents.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the ministers reiterated their appreciation for President Trump's commitment to peace in the region and stressed the need for the full implementation of the 'Trump Plan.' They highlighted the importance of sustaining the ceasefire, reducing civilian suffering, ensuring the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, and initiating recovery and reconstruction efforts. They also called for creating conditions for the Palestinian Authority to resume its responsibilities in Gaza as a step towards regional stability.
The ministers affirmed their readiness to work with the United States and other international parties to implement UNSCR 2803 and relevant resolutions, aiming for a just and sustainable peace based on international legitimacy and the two-state solution. This would involve establishing an independent Palestinian State along the borders of June 4, 1967, including Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem as its capital.
