Riyadh, The second edition of the three-day International Opera Festival began with a grand opening at the Red Theater of Princess Noura University in Riyadh, organized by the Music Commission.
The event saw the participation of several opera artists and presented famous operatic pieces and performances. Visitors toured an exhibition of Franco Zeffirelli’s opera productions, learning about the Italian director’s legacy and his significant contributions to the world of opera.
By hosting this festival, the Music Commission aims to establish an annual international event celebrating opera as one of the most distinct forms of music. This event presents a unique opportunity for local talents and audiences to experience the art and culture of opera and contributes to the enrichment of local culture and the music sector. The festival also reflects the Culture Ministry’s commitment to promoting international cultural exchange as part of its strategic goals under the Saudi Vision 2030.
