Preliminary Qualifiers for King Abdulaziz Competition for Quran Memorization Begin

Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, preliminary qualifiers for the King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorizing, Reciting, and Interpreting the Holy Quran in its 43rd session began today at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

The international competition is organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawa and Guidance from 9-21 Safar 1445 AH.

The preliminary qualifiers were held following the arrival of all participants to the competition premises. In the opening session today, the jury listened to the recitation of 18 participants from 18 countries. The remaining participants to be judged in morning and afternoon sessions on Saturday.

A total of 166 participants from 177 countries have been registered in this year’s competition with a prize pool of SAR 4 million.
