Makkah: The General Authority for Awqaf is intensifying efforts to enhance services for pilgrims through the strategic use of over 600 endowments set to serve during the year 2025. This initiative is part of the authority's mission to improve the experience of pilgrims by addressing their various needs to facilitate ritual performance and ensure safety.
According to Saudi Press Agency, more than 600 endowments have been designated for pilgrim services in 2025. Out of these, 450 endowments are specifically allocated to areas directly related to Hajj, while 150 focus on general support services. These endowments cover a broad spectrum of services such as guidance, awareness, accommodation, transportation, translation, safety, and educational programs, all aimed at improving the quality of services available during Hajj.
In addition to service enhancements, the authority is investing over SAR100 million for the restoration of historic endowments in Makkah. These historic sites have long stood as places of refuge and comfort for pilgrims. The rehabilitation project aligns with a comprehensive strategy that preserves historical significance while enhancing field services, thereby providing an integrated experience that respects the identity and sanctity of holy sites.
owments are strategically distributed across the Kingdom, with more than 100 located in Riyadh, over 90 in Makkah, more than 50 in Qassim, and over 25 in Madinah. This widespread distribution underscores the nationwide commitment to easing the pilgrimage journey through robust endowment support.
