Riyadh: The Saudi Post (SPL), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, is actively engaged in transporting critical blood units to hospitals throughout the holy sites during the Hajj season. This vital function underscores SPL's role as a national logistical enabler for medical transport, significantly enhancing rapid response capabilities and ensuring seamless access to healthcare services for pilgrims.
According to Saudi Press Agency, SPL provides specialized medical transport services, operating in close coordination with the broader healthcare system. This includes the efficient transport of biological samples between healthcare facilities and laboratories both within and outside the holy sites, adhering to the highest standards of efficiency.
SPL also facilitates the transfer of blood units from various regions of the Kingdom to the blood bank in Makkah and hospitals in the holy sites, and handles the transport of toxicology and forensic samples from the entrances of the holy sites to specialized laboratories, contributing significantly to public safety efforts.
This strategic partnership between SPL and the Ministry of Health is instrumental in boosting the efficiency of medical supply chains during Hajj. By expediting the transfer of samples and blood units between health facilities, it directly supports laboratory readiness and contributes to improving the overall quality of healthcare services provided to pilgrims.
These integrated efforts align with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Pilgrim Experience Program under Saudi Vision 2030. These programs aim to enrich the pilgrims' health experience, enabling them to perform their rituals with ease and tranquility.
