Makkah: Covering over 1.8 million square meters and accommodating more than 2.5 million worshippers, the Grand Mosque in Makkah offers comprehensive services designed to facilitate the movement of pilgrims and enable them to perform their rituals safely.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques oversee these services, including clear pathways, digital screens displaying real-time crowd levels, and accessible infrastructure like gates, ramps, escalators, and elevators. Key services also feature the provision of wheelchairs and electric carts for Tawaf and Sa'i, which are conveniently bookable through the authority's website.
Additional support services include a free shaving service at the Sa'i exit, restrooms, luggage storage, and nearby restaurants and shops.
For information, the ministry provides a 24/7 hotline (1966) and educational guides in 16 languages available at their disposal. These extensive efforts reflect the high level of care provided to ensure a seamless and enriching experience for all pilgrims and visitors, from arrival to departure.
