KSrelief Team Participates in Maternal and Child Health Project Visit in Tajikistan

Tajikistan: A team from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) on Tuesday took part in a donor delegation organized by the Lives and Livelihoods Fund (LLF) on a field visit to a project aimed at enhancing maternal, newborn, and child health services in the Khatlon Province of Tajikistan. This visit is part of KSrelief's ongoing contribution to LLF projects supported by the Islamic Development Bank.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the delegation was joined by Tajikistan's deputy prime minister, the minister of health, and representatives from partner organizations involved in the fund. They toured the upgraded health center in Khatlon, where they examined the newly acquired medical equipment and patient wards. These improvements have significantly increased antenatal care coverage from 50% to 70% and have facilitated more than 1,500 safe deliveries.

The delegation also attended a conference in Dushanbe, where Saudi Ambassador to Tajikistan Waleed Alreshaidan was present. The conference served as a platform for government leaders, fund partners, development actors, and technical experts to celebrate the project's achievements, share lessons learned, and plan future steps to advance maternal, newborn, and child health priorities.

KSrelief Assistant Supervisor-General for Operations and Programs, Eng. Ahmed Al-Baiz, highlighted the center's gratitude for the collaborative efforts with partners and the Tajikistan government. He emphasized that the project exemplifies how partnership can drive positive changes and significantly enhance the well-being of mothers, newborns, and children.
