Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Masam Project, which focuses on mine clearance in Yemen, cleared 915 explosives during the third week of August. The cleared items included 880 unexploded ordnance, 14 improvised explosive devices, 13 anti-tank mines, and 8 anti-personnel mines. This brought the monthly total to 2,939, while the cumulative number removed since the project's launch has reached 510,527. These mines were planted randomly across Yemeni territory, posing a severe threat to civilians-particularly children, women, and the elderly-and spreading fear in peaceful communities.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Masam Project continues to play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of Yemeni citizens. By removing these explosives, the project aims to restore a sense of safety in affected areas and support the return to normalcy for many communities. The ongoing efforts of KSrelief highlight the importance of international aid and collaboration in addressing humanitarian crises.
