Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Masam Project removed 1,140 explosives across Yemen during the second week of August. The significant clearance operation is part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and security of Yemeni civilians by eliminating the threat posed by explosive remnants of war. According to Saudi Press Agency, the cleared explosives included 1,090 items of unexploded ordnance, 49 anti-tank mines, and one anti-personnel mine. This initiative is crucial in mitigating the risks faced by the local population, who are constantly under threat from hidden explosives planted throughout the region. The latest efforts bring the overall number of mines removed since the beginning of the Masam Project to 509,612. These mines were planted randomly throughout Yemeni territory, posing a severe threat to innocent civilians-particularly children, women, and the elderly-and spreading fear among peaceful communities. The project's success in locating and neutralizing the se hazards is a significant step toward restoring normalcy and safety in the affected areas.
