Aden: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) yesterday launched a field campaign to combat malaria in camps for internally displaced persons in the governorates of Aden and Marib, as part of the second phase of a malaria prevention and control project, in cooperation with the World Health Organization.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the campaign includes field visits by four mobile medical teams comprising 28 specialized healthcare personnel, providing early screening, diagnosis, and free malaria treatment. The teams will also conduct entomological surveys to identify disease hotspots, benefiting 553,000 individuals across 72 camps for internally displaced persons.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Health and Population for Primary Health Care Dr. Ali Ahmed Al-Waleedi affirmed that the deployment of these teams enhances access to healthcare services for displaced populations. He praised KSrelief's support, which has contributed to the implementation of vital health programs across various governorates.
This initiative is part of the Kingdom's humanitarian and relief efforts, carried out through KSrelief, to support local efforts to control malaria, reduce the health burden, and advance the path of health recovery in Yemen.
