General

Riyadh: The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL), in collaboration with the Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC), has organized the Hamza Academic Test to assess Arabic language proficiency among non-native speakers at several universities in the Kingdom.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this initiative reflects the academy's ongoing efforts to develop linguistic assessment tools and ensure the reliability of Arabic language education outcomes in accordance with international standards.

The test is designed to help educational institutions and employers accurately evaluate the Arabic language proficiency of non-native speakers through a standardized model based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). It takes into account the specific needs of students, academics, and learners in diverse educational contexts.

Administered in-person at computerized university centers, the Hamza test measures proficiency in four key language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking, through 75 items completed over 155 minutes.

In this phase, the test was conducted in 17 universities and colleges across 15 Saudi cities, benefiting more than 350 learners representing various nationalities.
