Riyadh: King Salman International Airport (KSIA), a company under the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) to enhance cooperation in promoting domestic tourism, developing air connectivity, and improving the traveler and visitor experience. This initiative aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the MoU seeks to align national efforts across the transport and tourism sectors through joint initiatives. These include global marketing, event organization, sharing of data analytics, and expanding destinations and air routes. The partnership aims to bolster Saudi Arabia's position as a global hub for tourism, travel, and logistics.
The agreement integrates initiatives to enhance the travel and tourism experience. Efforts include the 'Hafawa' program and deeper collaboration with domestic and international airlines to increase seat capacity and strengthen connectivity between KSIA and tourism destinations across the Kingdom and the world.
Acting CEO of KSIA, Marco Mejia, remarked, 'This MoU marks an important step toward building an integrated ecosystem that connects transport infrastructure with the Kingdom's national tourism identity. Far beyond a mere transit point, KSIA will be a remarkable gateway reflecting the cultural and human spirit of Saudi Arabia. Through our collaboration with the STA, we aim to seamlessly integrate the Kingdom's transport and tourism sectors, further positioning Riyadh as a leading global destination.'
This initiative reaffirms KSIA's dedication to establishing strategic partnerships that support the development of a comprehensive and interconnected travel and tourism framework in Saudi Arabia.
