Riyadh: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has approved the addition of a female section to the King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorizing, Reciting and Interpreting the Holy Quran in its 46th session, based on a proposal by Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh. The approval marks a significant milestone in the competition’s history since its founding in 1399 AH, enhancing its inclusivity and extending its global mission to both male and female participants.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the minister expressed gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their care and dedication to serving the Holy Quran, noting that the addition reflects a commitment to women’s pivotal role in society and to connecting youth with the Holy Quran through memorization and contemplation.
