KAUST Hosts Second Edition of MenaML Winter School in Partnership with Ministry

Thuwal: King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) is hosting the second edition of the MenaML Winter School, in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, from January 24 to 29. The event is bringing together leading researchers, scientists, and specialists in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning from across the Middle East and North Africa.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the program aims to advance scientific research and develop specialized technical capabilities through an intensive curriculum covering both theoretical and applied aspects of artificial intelligence. Sessions explore the latest developments in intelligent model engineering, AI for scientific applications, and high-efficiency computing technologies.

Representatives from 16 international scientific and technological institutions are participating alongside 300 researchers selected from 2,300 applicants based on scientific merit and research potential. The event provides a platform to foster research collaboration, establish academic partnerships, and connect participants with global scientific institutions. It supports innovation and the development of solutions across sectors, including energy, health, infrastructure, and advanced technology.

The program also seeks to strengthen human capital in the region by offering advanced training, facilitating knowledge exchange with leading experts and research centers, and cultivating an ecosystem that encourages research and innovation.

In addition, the event reinforces the Kingdom's role as a regional and international hub for scientific research and advanced technologies, supporting its active participation in shaping the global development of artificial intelligence.
