Shanghai: King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) has secured the third position among Middle Eastern airports in the ACI Asia-Pacific and Middle East Connectivity Index for 2024, as announced by Airports Council International (ACI) on Wednesday. The ranking was disclosed during the Air Connectivity Conference 2025 in Shanghai, China.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the index evaluates several key factors, including flight frequency, destination diversity, geographic location, market size, economic factors, air connectivity quality, airline integration, and passenger experience.
Jeddah Airports Company (JEDCO) chief executive Eng. Mazen Johar stated that the ranking signifies a milestone in KAIA's progress, showcasing advancements in air-connectivity efficiency and the expansion of the airport's destination network. This accomplishment underscores Jeddah Airports' efforts to enhance air connectivity in line with its strategy and vision to transform KAIA into a global and pivotal hub.
JEDCO has reiterated its dedication to operational excellence by strengthening KAIA's competitiveness, expanding its air-connectivity network, improving infrastructure, and enhancing passenger experience. These initiatives align with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's goal to establish itself as a strategic hub in the global aviation sector.
