IRF Shipping Service Enhances Jeddah Islamic Port’s Connectivity

Jeddah: The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) announced the addition of global shipping company PIL's IRF service to Jeddah Islamic Port, a move that will enhance the port's capabilities and support trade between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and regional and international markets.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the new shipping service will strengthen Jeddah Islamic Port's connectivity with Egypt's Sokhna and Safaga ports, offering a capacity of up to 1,261 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).

The move is part of Mawani's efforts to improve Saudi Arabia's standing in global performance indicators, support national exports, and advance the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy to establish the Kingdom as a global logistics hub connecting three continents.

The addition of the new service reflects the attractiveness of Saudi ports to global shipping lines and strengthens Jeddah Islamic Port's position as a key maritime connectivity and shipping hub on the Red Sea. It is expected to help expand trade routes and support the growth of maritime traffic in the region.

Jeddah Islamic Port is one of Saudi Arabia's key strategic ports on the Red Sea, playing a pivotal role in connecting the Kingdom with global markets. It has advanced infrastructure and integrated logistics facilities that support international trade and global supply chains.
